Water Leak Alert
INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the Honeywell Water
Leak Alert. The Water Leak Alert takes water sensing to a
new level of reliability. This product is unique because it
uses a patented water sensing cable that can be wrapped
in a variety of locations around your home to detect water
and alert you to its presence before it becomes a bigger
issue. This product provides 16x more coverage than
traditional water alarms with "spot" detection and is one of
the most versatile water sensing product available! Place
throughout your home wherever you would like the peace
of mind of sensing water leaks.
Honeywell Water Leak Alert can be easily mounted on self-
powered water heaters and can be connected to a
Honeywell gas valve. When connected to a Honeywell gas
valve, you get the added benefit of turning the water
heater off automatically when a leak is detected.
Preparation
1. Remove the battery cover on the front of the unit by
pushing the latch on top. Then insert 2 AA batteries
and replace the cover.

2. Insert the cable plug into the jack on the bottom of
the leak detector. See Fig. 1.
Installation: Leak Alert Only
1. Place the leak detector so the cable is positioned
where leaks are likely to occur. This is usually on the
bottom level of a building, near water sources, or
anywhere leaks are possible.
2. Arrange the leak sensing cable so it is in position to
detect leaks.
3. Use double-stick tape to attach the back of the leak
detector to a wall or other flat, dry surface.

1. Turn knob to off position. Remove the thermopile
connectors from the Honeywell water heater con-
troller. See Fig. 2.
