Stop the engine and disengageddve to attachment
before refueling;
before removingthe grass catcher;
before makingheightadjustmentunlessadjustment
can be made fromthe operator'sposition.

Reduce the throttlesettingdudng engine run-outand, if
the engine is provided with a shut-offvalve,turnthe fuel
off at the conclusion of mowing.
IV. Maintenance
and Storage
•
Keepall nuts,belts and screwstightto be sure the equip-
ment is in safe workingcondition.
Never store the equipmentwith petrol in the tank inside
a buildingwhere fumes may reach an open flame or
spark.
•
Allow the engine to cool before storing in any enclo-
sure.
To reducethefire hazard,keepthe engine,silencer,bat-
tery compartment and petrol storagearea free of grass,
leaves, or excessivegrease.
Check the grass catcher frequently for wear or dete-
rioration.
•
Replace wom or damagedparts for safety.
•
If the fuel tank has to be drained, this shouldbe done
outdoors.
•
On muiti-bladed mashines, take care as rotating one blade
can cause other blades to rotate.
•
When machineistobe parked,storedor leftunattended,
lowerthe cutting meansunlessa positive mechanicallock
is used.
WARNING: Always disconnect spark plug wire and
place wire where it cannot
contact spark plug in
order to prevent accidental
starting when setting
up, transporting,
adjusting or making repairs.
