Fig. 1: SCF1 and rotors.
1. Place the SCF1 on a flat and level surface.
2. Open the lid by pushing down on the stop
lever.
3. Install the required rotor by mounting the
rotor on the motor shaft. Align the clips of
the motor shaft with the centre hole of the
rotor. Push down the rotor until it clicks in

4. Connect the mains cable to the power supply
and turn the power switch on the back of
the unit to 'On'.

5. Place the tubes symmetrically into the rotor.
WARNING: Ensure the load is balanced.
Imbalanced loads will significantly reduce the life
of the rotor and centrifuge and may cause
damage or injury.
Micro tube rotor: place 2, 4, 6 or 8 tubes
symmetrically in the rotor.
Strip tube rotor: place two complete tube strips
into the rotor.
NOTE: Do not over-fill the tubes. Always use
caps on the tubes to prevent leakage and
generation of sample aerosols.
6. Close the lid and press down until it clicks
shut. The rotor will begin spinning once the
lid is completely closed.
7. To stop the centrifuge, push the stop lever.
Once the rotor has stopped spinning, open
the lid and remove the tubes.
