5. Slowly guide the machine in the direction of the
arrow (7): The diamond cutting disc cuts into the
workpiece.
6. Pull/push machine only in direction of the
arrow (7) (work in reverse rotation). Otherwise
there is the danger of the machine kicking back
from the cut out of control. Guide the machine
evenly at a speed suitable for the material being
processed. For optimal extraction ensure that
the wheels always touch the workpiece. The
guide table (10) must glide on the workpiece.
7. Once the cut is complete, switch off the tool and
hold it steady until the diamond cutting disc
comes to a stop. Never attempt to remove the
cutting disc from the cut while the wheel is
in motion otherwise kickback may occur.
8. Put machine aside.
8. Maintenance
Prior to each use, check if there are parts
missing, worn, broken, torn or damaged. Do not
use a defective or incomplete guard.
Significantly reduced work progress and increased
feed force are signs for blunt diamond cut-off
wheels. Sharpen blunt diamond cut-off wheels by
carrying out short cuts into abrasive materials such
as sand-lime brick.
9. Cleaning
Cleaning the motor: It is possible
that particles deposit inside the
power tool during operation. This impairs the
cooling of the power tool. Conductive build-up can
impair the protective insulation of the power tool and
create an electrical hazard.
The power tool should be cleaned regularly, often
and thoroughly through all front and rear air vents
using a vacuum cleaner or by blowing in dry air.
Prior to this operation, separate the power tool from
the power source and wear protective glasses and
dust mask. Ensure appropriate suction is available
when blowing out vents.
Button (21) for adjusting the handle:
Occasionally blow compressed air through the
button (when pressed, in all 3 main handle
positions). Prior to this operation, separate the
power tool from the power source and wear
protective glasses and dust mask.

10. Troubleshooting
Switching on the machine reduces the voltage
briefly. Unfavourable mains power conditions may
have a detrimental effect on other machines. Power
impedances less than 0.2 ohm should not cause
malfunctions.
11. Accessories
Use only genuine Metabo accessories.
10
Use only accessories that fulfil the requirements
and specifications listed in these operating
instructions.
The maximum permitted thickness of the
diamond cutting disc is 3 mm (1/8"). Do not
use any segmented diamond cutting discs with
segment slits >10 mm. If using segmented diamond
cutting discs, only a negative segment cutting angle
is permitted.
See www.metabo.com or the catalogue for a
complete range of accessories.
12. Repairs
Repairs to electrical tools must ONLY be
carried out by qualified electricians!
A defective mains cable must be replaced only with
a special, original mains cable from Metabo
available from the Metabo service.
Contact your local Metabo representative if you
have Metabo power tools requiring repairs. See
www.metabo.com for addresses.
You can download a list of spare parts from
www.metabo.com.
13. Environmental Protection
The generated sanding dust may contain harmful
substances: dispose of appropriately.
Observe national regulations on environmentally
compatible disposal and on the recycling of disused
tools, packaging and accessories.

Explanatory notes on the specifications on page 3.

standards).
Emission values
These values make it possible to assess the
emissions from the power tool and to compare
different power tools. The actual load may be higher
or lower depending on operating conditions, the
condition of the power tool or the accessories used.
Please allow for breaks and periods when the load
is lower for assessment purposes. Arrange
protective measures for the user, such as
organisational measures based on the adjusted
estimates.
