ligaments are affected with medial/
lateral elbow instability
• Applied conservatively to prevent
recurrent elbow dislocation
• Post-operative use for osteochondrosis
dissecans

cartilage replacement therapy
• Post-operative use following operative
ligament suturing or ligament

Mode of action
The elbow support serves to reinforce
and stabilise the elbow joint structure
using polycentric joint splints. It offers
protection from varus and valgus forces
that cannot be sustained and offers
additional optional security for the joint,
in the form of joint support wedges for
restricting flexion and extension.
Setting the restrictions for flexion
and extension and adjustment
(can only be carried out by an
orthopaedic technician)
Extension restriction wedges, E
(stretch restriction): 10°, 20°, 30°, 45°
Flexion restriction wedges, F
(bend restriction): 45°, 60°, 75°, 90°
• Your support comes with 20°
extension wedges pre-installed.
• To change the wedges, pull the joint
splints at the top end (strap 2) out of
the joint pocket on the side (fig. 1).
• Insert the flexion wedges (F) and then
the desired extension wedges (E) into
the side of the articulated joints and
fasten them with the attached screws
(fig. 2).
• The joint splints on the side are made
of aluminium and can be positioned
crosswise if required.
• Place the joint splints, narrow side
first, back in the joint pockets and
ensure that the straps for the pockets
enclose the upper end of the
articulated joint (fig. 3).
Putting on the support
• Open and loosen all straps. Pull the
support on. The arm that you are using
it on should be bent slightly. Your palm
should be facing upwards (fig. 4).
• The guide line should be level witFh
the bend in your elbow (fig. 5). Check
that the support is positioned correctly
by bending and straightening your
elbow.
• Fasten all of the ends of the straps in
the correct order (see numbering) and
check that the support is positioned
correctly again (fig. 6).
