1. Introduction
The Sundström SR 591 welding shields are intended for use
individually or together with the Sundström SR 900-system.
For information about the SR 900-system, see the products
user instructions.
The welding shields are designed specifically for protection
against radiation and spatter during welding, flame-cutting
and similar work.
If you feel uncertain about the selection and care of the
equipment, consult your work supervisor or get in touch with
the sales outlet. You are also welcome to get in touch with
the Technical Service Department at Sundstrom Safety AB.
1.1 Warnings/limitations
Warnings
• Change the welding filter immediately if it is found to be
damaged.
• Materials that come into contact with the user's skin may
give rise to allergic reactions if the user is sensitive.
• If the welding shield is equipped with a toughened mineral
glass lens, a protective lens (item 5 in 2.2 Accessories/
Spare parts) should be fitted on the inside of the toughened
mineral glass lens.
• Damaged or scratched protective lens must immediately
be replaced.
• Where the markings on the visor and visor frame are differ-
ent, the lowest applies.
Limitations
• Check that the welding filter have the correct scale number
for your work.
• The welding shield must always be fitted with a protective
lens in addition to the welding filter.
• Always observe the fire safety rules.

2.1 Delivery check
Check that the equipment is complete in accordance with the
packing list, and undamaged.

3.1 Installation

Welding filter
Fit a welding filter. See section 4.4.3 To change the welding filter.
3.2 Putting the welding shield on and
adjustements
• Raise the visor and put the welding shield on. Fig. 3.
• If necessary, adjust the head harness, see fig. 4.
Height adjustment.
A - how high the welding shield sits on the head.
Angle adjustment between shield and head harness.
B - the angle against the shield.
Space adjustment between shield and head har-
ness.
C - the space to the shield.
Width adjustment of the head harness.
D - adjustment of the width of the head harness.
