2. APPLICATIONS

The MILAN, MILAN FAST, MILAN 2.0 is used in situations like:
to safe one or more person from high elevations (working spaces) If the device is com-
pleted with a lifting function (winch) it can be used additionally for:
the rescue of a person from sinks, bunkers and other deep working spaces
the rescue of a person from higher elevations, e.g. a person hanging in a fall arrester,
bylifting the person out of the fall arrester and finally lowering the person to the safe
ground. The rescue device may be used only with approved and registered components,
which are suitable for the application purpose and under the conditions described within
the instructions. Only the manufacturer of the device allows any changes, furnishing
complimentary parts or repairs.
The MILAN 2.0 POWER (rescue hub with handwheel and optional impact wrench) also
offers the following applications (with integrated impact wrench):
Motorised rescue from a low-lying working position
Motorised rescue of accident victim from a high working position
Rescue from suspension on a fall arrester device
(hoisting, release from fall arrester and subsequent lowering)
Abseiling during shuttling operations as well as hoisting by means of the hub function can be
performed in both directions.
The MILAN 2.0 RAPID CLIMB (rescue hub with ratchet operation) can be used in the
following cases:
Facilitated manual rescues from low lying working positions
Facilitated manual rescue of accident victim from a high working positions
Facilitated manual rescue from suspension on a fall arrester device
(hoisting, release from fall arrester and subsequent lowering)

3. ANCHOR POINTS

For use in Europe, the anchor point to which the equipment is attached has to be designed for a
minimum working loads of 10kN (about 1 metric ton). Special anchor points have to be designed
according to EN 795.
For use in North America/ Canada the anchor point has to be designed for a working load of min.
3100 lbs. (1,4 to).
As safe anchor points supporting construction parts, the middle bars of ascending ladders, etc
may be used.Fixing to the steps of ladders, window frames, heating system pipes and similar is
not allowed.
The load capability and the location of the anchor point are essential for the safety. The location
