Operating Instructions

1. Safety Instructions

• Protect battery packs from water and moisture!
• Do not use faulty or deformed battery packs!
• Do not expose battery packs to fire or high
temperatures!
• Do not open battery packs!
• Do not touch or short circuit battery pack contacts!
• Warning - general danger!
• Caustic fluid may leak from defective NiCd or NiMH
battery packs (30% caustic potash solution)!
• A slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak from
defective Li-ion battery packs!
• If battery fluid from NiCd, NiMH or Li-Ion battery packs
leaks out and comes into contact with skin, rinse the
affected area thoroughly with water. If battery fluid
leaks out and comes into contact with your eyes, wash
them with clean water and seek medical attention
immediately!
• Keep battery packs out of the reach of children!
• Transporting li-ion battery packs: The shipping of li-ion
battery packs is subject to laws relating to the carriage
of hazardous goods (UN 3480 and UN 3481). Inform
yourself of the currently valid specifications when
shipping li-ion battery packs. If necessary, consult your
freight forwarder. Certified packaging is available from
Metabo.

2. Specified Conditions of Use

The battery packs 6.25437...6.31859 are designed for
use in corresponding Metabo battery-operated power
tools. They must only be charged using Metabo
chargers. To select the appropriate device, please
contact your Metabo dealer. Read the relevant
instructions for the devices used. For example, the
charging process is displayed on the charger. For
details, see the charger instructions.
The user bears sole responsibility for any damage
caused by inappropriate use. Generally accepted
accident prevention regulations and the safety
instructions must be observed.
3. Use
Charge the battery pack before use. The battery pack
reaches its full capacity only after being charged and
discharged 5 times (charge cycles).
Do not recharge a fully charged battery pack!
Overcharging damages and shortens the life span of the
battery pack.
The maximum number of charge cycles can only
reached if an exhaustive discharge of the battery pack is
avoided. Recharge the battery pack if performance
diminishes.
Before using the battery pack, read the
entire Operating Instructions carefully
