4. Product Information
4.1 Intelligent technology
Urinal installations in the public and semi-public sector must satisfy very stringent
requirements - hygiene, reliability and low cleaning/maintenance costs are the pri-
mary concern.
The DuraStyle urinal satisfies these requirements: The urinal offers touchless flush-
ing thanks to an electronic control unit developed especially by Duravit. The electron-
ics operate in conjunction with an infrared sensor that automatically detects arrival
of a user and subsequently initiates flushing when the user moves away from the
urinal (detection time/dwell time 9 sec.). Since the DuraStyle urinal thinks logically,
passersby or even objects that remain stationary within the detection range of the
controls for some time do not trigger spurious flushing - the unit adjusts continu-
ously to the surrounding conditions. In addition, the DuraStyle urinal offers several
free selectable service and flushing programs as well as a manually adjustable flush
duration. Automatic flushing every 12 hours to maintain hygiene prevents the build-
up of unpleasant odours.
4.2 User-friendly maintenance
The DuraStyle urinal is especially easy to service and maintain - the control unit is
maintenance-free; the solenoid valve is replaced with little effort after removing the
stainless steel cover beneath the control unit. Both the pre-shutoff valve and the dirt-
collecting screen can be accessed easily without having to remove the stainless steel
cover. The battery can be exchanged after removing the vandal-proof control unit in
just a few quick steps and then replacing it.
