These instructions for use provide important information on the fitting and
application of the 50R10 Lumbo Sensa and 50R11 Lumbo Sensa Women
lumbar braces.

2 Intended use

2.1 Indications for use
The support is intended exclusively for orthotic fittings of the trunk and
exclusively for contact with intact skin.
2.2 Indications
Lumbar spine syndrome
Lumbar syndrome
Low back pain
Pseudo-radicular sciatica
Muscular imbalances
Degenerative changes of the lumbar spine (e.g. osteochondrosis,
spondylarthrosis, facet joint syndrome)
Irritation of the iliosacral joint
Indications must be determined by the physician.
2.3 Contraindications
2.3.1 Absolute Contraindications
None known.
2.3.2 Relative Contraindications
Report to and discuss with the physician any of the following: contractures
of the spine, restricted chest breathing ability, skin diseases/injuries, inflam­
mation, raised scars with swelling, reddening, and warming in the area
where the brace is fitted, tumors, lymphatic congestion – including unclear
swelling of soft tissue distal to the medical aid, and dysesthesia in the legs.

2.4 Mechanism of Action

The brace promotes sensorimotor function and activates muscular stabiliza­
tion of the lumbar spine. It helps alleviate pain and relieves the lumbar spine.
The pad has a proprioceptive effect and stabilizes the lumbosacral transition.
