Possible complications
Like all foreign bodies, TiLOOP® Bra MPX can negatively affect a pre-existing infection.
Similar to all mesh implants, possible undesired adverse reactions can occur when using TiLOOP® Bra MPX:
• Temporary in situ irritation at the implantation site and temporary reactive process in the tissue towards the implanted foreign
body (possible implication: formation of seroma)
• Formation of a capsular contracture, e.g. when TiLOOP® Bra MPX is inserted with breast implants and expanders
• Post-operative bleedings and formation of haematomas
• Occurence of wound dehiscences, necroses, dysaesthesias and infections
• I f the skin is very thin, e.g. after subcutaneous mastectomies and subsequent reconstruction, the mesh structure may be percep-
tible and palpable
• Formation of hypertrophic scars not excluded
Similar to all aesthetic plastic surgeries, a result differing from that initially desired by the patient may occur.
Contraindications
In case of an allergy towards titanium, a foreign body reaction, caused by the casing containing titanium, is possible.
Avoid using titanised mesh implants in breast surgery when the wound is infected or contaminated.
Otherwise, the common contraindications for operative treatment with mesh implants apply.
