Piezon Master 400

Operating the Piezon Master 400

Switch the Piezon Master 400 "ON" with power switch (2). The green equipment-on
lamp (3) on the front of the unit will illuminate.
Please note - Read the operating instructions for the appropriate EMS system. They
cover the "Water" knob (5) and "Power" knob (6) settings for every instrument in
detail.

"Water" and "Power" knobs

The "Water" knob (5) and "Power" knob (6) are on the front of the Piezon Master
400. The irrigating liquid flow rate and ultrasonic setting can be adjusted
progressively with the knobs (5, 6) from the lowest setting, via the low and medium
settings, up to the highest setting. Set the knobs (5, 6) as described in the operating
instructions for the system in use.
ENDO or IRRIGATION/SCALING rocker switch and footswitch
The ENDO or IRRIGATION/SCALING rocker switch (7) is on the right hand side of the
Piezon Master 400, beneath the handpiece holder (9). The rocker switch has two
settings which control the two-stage footswitch (18).
When carrying out treatment with the Piezon Master 400, set the rocker switch to
IRRIGATION/SCALING. When the rocker switch is set to this position, the footswitch
should be pressed lightly to "irrigate only". Press the footswitch firmly to actuate the
"ultrasonics and irrigation".
The "ENDO" rocker switch setting is required for orthograde endodontic treatment
only. When the rocker switch is set to "ENDO", the footswitch (18) should be pressed
lightly to actuate "ultrasonics and irrigation". Press the footswitch firmly to actuate
"ultrasonics only". When the footswitch is in this setting, the yellow control lamp (4)
illuminates and the sound of the pump subsides. Please note that in this setting, the
irrigating liquid is heated immediately - only use the second footswitch setting briefly.
The brief duration of the treatment prevents possible injury to the periodontium.

Handpiece holder

The handpiece holder (9) includes a safety mechanism which prevents the handpiece
being operated inadvertently as long as it is in the handpiece holder (9).
