Careful handling of the prosthesis and its components not only increases
their service life but, above all, ensures the patient's safety!
Should prosthetic components be subjected to unusual stresses (such
as a fall), immediately contact your prosthetist and have the components
inspected for any damage. If necessary, the responsible prosthetist will
pass the prosthesis on to the Otto Bock Service Centre.
NOTICE
Risk of corrosion. Prosthetic components must not be exposed to cor-
rosive elements such as fresh water, salt water, and acids.
Using this medical product in such environmental conditions will render
all claims against Otto Bock HealthCare null and void.
NOTICE
Damage caused by inappropriate environmental conditions. Prosthetic
components must not be subjected to intense smoke, dust, vibrations,
shocks, or high temperatures. Do not allow debris or liquids to get into
the prosthetic components. Failure to follow these instructions can lead
to malfunctioning and damage to the prosthesis.
NOTICE
Damage caused by improper cleaning agents. Do not use any ag-
gressive cleaning agents, since they could cause damage to bearings,
seals and plastic parts.
2.4 Function
The Otto Bock Wrist Units – ratchet type rotation – are available in the
following designs:
10V8
Wrist Unit – ratchet type rotation
10V30
Wrist Unit – ratchet type rotation, short
The ratchet type rotation wrist units feature two levers.
The locking lever A locks rotation of the Otto Bock System Hand or Otto Bock
Cable-Activated Hook (Fig. 1, lever A). Actuacting the lever once again
