Please read the instructions
thoroughly before starting to
use the kettle. Keep these
operating instructions in
a safe place and enclose
them with the kettle when it
is handed on.

operating instructions are

www.ritterwerk.de.

INTENDED USE

This kettle is intended to
be used exclusively to heat
water (not milk, instant
drinks, etc.) on a domestic
scale. If the kettle is used
in a manner other than
its intended use, or if it is
incorrectly operated, severe
injuries may occur or the
kettle may be damaged. All
warranty and liability claims
will be rendered null and
void in this case.
FUNCTIONS
The kettle allows you to
heat water to four pre-
defined target temperatures
(70 °C, 80 °C, 95 °C and
100 °C).
Your kettle has a lime-scale
filter to prevent lime-scale
deposits from inside the
water jug being poured out
with the water. The ket-
tle also features boil-dry
protection to prevent it from
overheating if the water in
the water jug is below the
minimum fill level.
BEFORE USING THE
APPLIANCE FOR THE
FIRST TIME
• Remove the appliance
carefully from the packag-
ing. Remove all packaging
components and keep them
in a safe place along with
the packaging itself.
• Place the base (2) on a
flat, non-slip dry surface
close to a mains socket.
• Unwind the power
cord (1) to the required
length.
• Keep any excess length
of power cord stored in the
cord storage compartment
provided on the underside
of the base, and pass the
cable through one of the
two cord exits.
A
Plug the power cord into
the socket.
• Open the lid of the
water jug (3) by sliding the
index finger under the lid
release (7), pulling it up and
holding it with the thumb.
• Before using the kettle
for the first time, clean it as
described under
"De-scaling the water jug".
USING THE APPLIANCE
Preparation
Note:
Condensate may form on
the base. This is a normal
physical process and does
not indicate any damage to
your kettle.
A
Plug the power cord (1)
into the socket.
• Open the lid of the
water jug (3) by sliding the
index finger under the lid
release (7), pulling it up and
holding it with the thumb.
• Fill the water jug with the
desired quantity of clear
water. Note the minimum
and maximum water levels
(marked with "min." and
"max." on the water level
indicator (5)).
• Close the lid.
B
Place the water jug on
the base.
Heating water
• Press the required tem-
perature button (4.1 - 4.4)
on the base (2) to switch
the kettle on. The LED on
the active temperature but-
ton starts to flash and the
kettle heats the water.
CAUTION: Risk of burns:
– Never open the lid of
the water jug while the
kettle is in the process
of heating water, as hot
water may splash out.
– When the kettle is
heating water, the outer
surface of the water
jug may get very hot.
Always use the handle
to hold the kettle.
Once the target tempera-
ture is reached, the LED
stops flashing and the kettle
switches off automatically.
