4.1 Size Selection
1) Measure the distance from the elbow to the metacarpophalangeal joints.
2) Determine the orthosis size (see size chart).
4.2 Fitting and Application

The shoulder orthosis is delivered closed and ready for trial fitting. It can be used on both sides
and is preset for use on the right arm.
Adapting the 50A8 for the left side of the body
Remove the abdominal closure attached to the arm sling and attach it in the same position on the
opposite side, as a mirror image.

All hook-and-loop closures on the orthosis are unfastened.

The patient is standing.
1) Place the arm in the sling and close the hook-and-loop closures on the forearm and thumb
(see fig. 1).
2) Place the shoulder harness diagonally over the shoulder and adjust it (see fig. 2).
3) Close the waist belt (see fig. 3).
4) Optional: Shorten the belt.
5) Bring the shoulder pad in the desired position.
Adapting the 50A9 for the left side of the body
1) Open the waist belt.
2) Loosen the pommel from the arm sling and fasten it as a mirror image on the opposite side
with the double-sided hook-and-loop strap (see fig. 4).
3) Open the shoulder harness and switch the closure direction.
