Manumed
Intended purpose
Manumed is a wrist support. The product is exclusively to
be used for the orthotic fitting of the wrist and only on
intact skin or any wounds have been properly covered.
Indications
• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Immobilisation for distortions of the wrist
• Soft tissue inflammation (chronic, post-traumatic,
postoperative)
• Secondary consequences of paralysis (radial paresis)
• Tendinitis, tenosynovitis
Contraindications
None known to date
Mode of action
Immobilisation and stabilisation of the wrist with volar
aluminium support.
Wearing directions
Only wearing the Manumed consistently will support the
therapy.
Applying the support
The initial fitting should be supervised by a healthcare
professional.
• The pre-shaped aluminium splint can be removed and
easily moulded to match different wrist contours (fig. 1).
• Open all the straps and slip your hand into the support
(with the aluminium splint at the bottom – fig. 2).
• First close the front strap and then the back strap (fig. 3).
• Now close the broad central strap. This strap is attached
to the underside of the support by Velcro and can be
moved before fastening if necessary (fig. 4 + 5).
