Fault correction

Warning
Problem
Required vacuum
is not attained,
indicator on the

vacuum gauge [1-

3] in red sector.
Insuffi cient
vacuum during
operation.
The vacuum pump
does not start.
The vacuum pump
seizes.
The vacuum pump
makes excessive
noise or rattles
during operation.
The vacuum pump
becomes extreme-
ly hot and swit-
ches off.
All maintenance and repair work on the pump must be carried out
by an authorised service workshop only.
Possible cause
Vacuum gauge faulty
Vacuum pump faulty
Hose and/or pipe connections are
not tight
Air fi lter partly blocked
More than 2000 m above sea level
Slide valve worn
Vacuum hose faulty or leaking
Vacuum pump faulty
When using the clamping unit
VAC SYS SE:
Clamping unit does not form a seal
with the clamping plate
Suction cup on the workpiece not
completely sealed
Drive motor is overloaded or con-
nected to incorrect mains voltage
Vacuum pump faulty
Mains cable is too small or too long
Foreign objects in the vacuum
pump
Slide valve broken
Loose mains connection(s)
Foreign objects in the vacuum
pump
Faulty bearings or worn slide valves
Insuffi cient supply of cooling air
Mains frequency or mains power
supply outside the tolerance range
Ambient temperature higher than
40 °C
Remedy
Replace the vacuum gauge

Repair or replace the vacuum pump

Check the connections for leaks
Replace the air fi lter
Change the slide valve
(Festool Service)
Replace the vacuum hose; replace
the hose connector if necessary
Repair or replace the vacuum pump

Stop work immediately and remove
the workpiece
Check the clamping plate and
suction cup
Connect the drive motor to the cor-
rect mains voltage
Repair or replace the vacuum pump

Use a mains cable with suffi cient di-
mensions

Replace the slide valve

Tighten or replace loose connections.
