Caring for your magnifying glass
GB
Proper care of your magnifier will allow it to provide you
with many years of untroubled reading pleasure.
Clean the lens with a damp cloth (ideal: a damp micro-
fibre cloth). When cleaning a lightweight lens (acrylic
glass lens) never use solvents such as alcohol, benzene
or other cleaning agents as these can damage the lens.
Small lines that look like hairline cracks at the edges of
lightweight lenses or in the plastic frame are flow lines
that occur during processing of the material. They do not
affect the function or durability in any way.

General safety notes

GB
Fire hazard! Never leave your magnifier out in the sun un-
covered. The intensifying effect of the lens can start a fire.
Risk of injury!
Never use the magnifier to look at the sun.
Do not directly look at the light source with illuminated
magnifiers.
Avoid mechanical effects such as impacts, banging
or dropping on the floor, as well as moisture and high
temperatures.
Inform other people about these risks, especially children.
Do not dispose of old batteries with the household waste.
These need to be disposed of properly (see page 13).
