select "FM" or "AM".

Use the TUNING knob to select a station.
Automatic tuning
Turn the TUNING knob up or down. Release it when
the frequency starts to change on the display.
When a radio station is being received, the frequency
display change will stop automatically.
Repeat this procedure until the radio station that you
want to listen to is tuned in.
o To cancel, turn the TUNING knob lightly up and
down.
o You can also use the remote control's TUNING
(5/b) buttons in the same manner.
Manual tuning
To tune in a radio station that cannot be tuned in
automatically, turn the TUNING knob up or down a
little at a time. Repeat this procedure until the radio
station that you want to listen to is tuned in.

Listening to the radio
o You can also use the remote control's TUNING
(5/b) buttons in the same manner. Press a
TUNING (5/b) button lightly to change the fre-
quency by one step. Repeat this step until the
station you want to listen to is found.
Using the FM MODE button
When a stereo FM program is tuned in, you can switch
between stereo and mono by pressing the FM MODE
button.
STEREO
Stereo FM broadcasts are received in stereo and "Stereo"
appears on the display.
MONO
Stereo FM broadcasts are converted to mono.
Use this mode when reception of a stereo broadcast is
poor. The sound will become mono, but noise will be
reduced.
If the reception is poor
Rotate or relocate the FM antenna to find the best position
for reception.
An AM antenna is built into the unit. If reception of an AM
broadcast is poor, change the orientation of the unit.
