All alterations to the initial conditions can compromise the tank's tightness
It is particularly recommended :
1. don't change the position of the adduction pipe, straining can affect the
tightness of the pipes with structural damages to the tank.
2. To install the breather, bore the tank's body on the correspondent
threaded print on the tank's extremity opposed to the filling pipe, screwing
the vent fitting ( not supplied), and fixing it with a proper thread lock.
3. (only Diesel) Install the return fitting boring the tank's body on the
correspondent threaded print near the adduction pipe, screwing the
return fitting ( not supplied ) with a proper thread lock.
4. Install the gauge ( not supplied and optional), providing to use the
same screws already set in position on the tank and taking care when
positioning the proper gasket.
5. Intake the tank in order to remove all possible chips
6. In case the breather on the filling cap will be used, be sure it is open
before use
7. For the models "straight deck fill" and " 45° deck fill" fix the fuel pipe of
approved type with a proper clamp ( not supplied) than proceed to install
the breather as described on point 2
The fuel tank must be installed in the place planned by the boat's designer.
All the responsibilities concerning the settling of his emplacement on board
falls on the designer and/or the shipyard.
The fuel tank must be installed in such a way as to have all the bottom resting
on an even surface whether on the floor or on a suitable structure. Avoid to
lay it partially or, anyhow, on an unreliable support.
Fix the tank with proper holding straps ( straps not supplied).
Warnings !
• The engine and the fuel tank compartments must be provided with a breather and a
protection against the ignition, in compliance with the ISO 11105 and ISO 8846
regulations.
• The distance between a petrol tank and combustion engine MUST NOT be
less than 100 mm.
• The distance between the dry exhaust components and a petrol tank
MUST NOT be less than 250 mm., unless an equivalent thermal barrier is
provided
• The electrical components of the fuel system must be installed in
compliance with the EN ISO 10133 and EN ISO 13297.
• Both the fuel tank and the components of the petrol system MUST NOT
