Only use genuine replacement parts for all parts
to be replaced on the forklift. Forklift trucks
won't last forever but they will give you
additional years of service if you replace old or
broken parts with parts that are comparable in
safety and function with those installed by the
factory. Contact your Service Centre to access
specific spare parts information for your truck.
3.5 Modifications and
additions
Any modifications or additions that affect
capacity, operation or safety of the truck shall
not be made without the prior written approval of
the Service Centre or manufacturer. Capacity,
operation, and maintenance instruction plates,
tags or decals must be changed after
modifications are made. Contact the Service
Centre before altering or adding any equipment
to the truck, such as adding options, installing
other attachments or changing a mast or a tire
type.
Only in the event that the truck manufacturer is
no longer in business and there is no successor
in the interest to the business, may the user
arrange for a modification or alteration to a
powered industrial truck, provided, however,
that the user:
• Arranges for the modification or alteration to
be designed, tested and implemented by an
engineer(s) expert in industrial trucks and
their safety.
• Maintains a permanent record
of the
design, test(s) and implementation of the
modification or alteration.
• Approves and makes appropriate changes
to the capacity plate(s), decals, tags and in-
struction handbook.
• Affixes a permanent and readily visible label
to the truck stating the manner in which the
truck has been modified or altered, together
with the date of the modification or altera-
tion and the name and address of the or-
ganization that accomplished those tasks.
3.5.1 Inductive circuits
The truck is certified in accordance with
standard requirements for electromagnetic
compatibility. The installation of new,
insufficiently shielded inductive components
may damage the electronic components present
on the truck; do not modify the electrical system
in any way. The manufacturer declines all
responsibility in the event of tampering, addition
of circuits or servicing carried out by
unauthorized staff. For any modification to the
electric installation, please contact the Service
Centre.
3.5.2 Welding

WARNING
No welding may be performed on the truck. Any
change in the truck's structures can weaken the
steadiness and consequently the safety of the
vehicle.
3.6 Periodic inspections
As prescribed by directive 89/655/EEC and
amending directive 2009/104/EC, the forklift
truck owner ( employer) is responsible to
perform periodic inspections to ensure that
health and safety original conditions are
maintained. In this way, indeed, every possible
deterioration due to misuse i.e. can be detected
and remedied.
National regulations issued from the above
directives shall be considered as they may differ
from one country to the other. European
directive 89/655/EEC and amending directive
2009/104/EC define minimum safety
requirements at the working places.
The above periodic inspections shall be
performed by competent persons (experts). A
