5.2 DETERMINATION OF THE ROW DISTANCE
MAGICA 6 rows
The main feature of the Magica 6-row seed drill is the changing of
the distance between the sowing rows and the managing of two
different row spacings with the toolbar closed and open. In fact,
the 6-row seed drill is able to sow at 45 or 50 cm with the toolbar
in transport position (Fig. 18-19), and at 60, 70 and 75 cm with
the toolbar open.
Shown below are the combinations of the available row spacings,
where the narrowest one can be obtained with the seed drill toolbar
folded in transport position.

NARROWEST ROW SPACING WITH TOOLBAR CLOSED IN
TRANSPORT POSITION
With the toolbar folded (equipment in road transport condition), it is
possible to work with a narrow row spacing of 45/50 cm, according
to the seed drill model, by changing the position of the stop block
(Fig. 18-19):
Pos. (A, Fig. 18) - Magica 3.00: narrowest row spacing 45 cm;
Pos. (B, Fig. 19) - Magica 3.00: narrowest row spacing 50 cm;
These confi gurations allow sowing without having to move
the side toolbars.
SETTING THE ROW SPACING
The following operations should be carried out with the ma-
chine closed.
To set the row spacing, proceed as follows:
1) Operate the hydraulic system to close the seeding elements
and then open the side toolbars.
2) Move the lower knuckle pins into the guide holes corresponding
to the row spacing to be set (example in Fig. 20).
3) Position the upper pins in the holes corresponding to the row
spacing to be set (Fig. 21-22).
4) Operate the hydraulic system to open the elements up to the
stop, determined by the position of the pins.
