POOL / SPA CONTROL (OPTIONAL)

POOL / SPA CONTROL (OPTIONAL)
POOL / SPA CONTROL (OPTIONAL)
POOL / SPA CONTROL (OPTIONAL)
Pool / Spa control allows the heat pump to heat water on a pool or a Spa or both alternatively.
The unit is able to control the 3-way-valves used to configure the hydraulic circuit on Pool or
Spa modes.
Connection depends on water hydraulic system layout. Two main configurations can be
considered:
Two independent filtration systems (three 3-way-valves). See IMAGE 7 (page 187).
One common filtration system (two 3-way-valves). See IMAGE 8 (page 188).
Pool / Spa optional consists of an extra electronic board which is assembled directly to the main
board and a 24V AC power transformer that will power on the hydraulic 3-way-valves.
See IMAGE 9 (page 189)
In order to control the configuration of the hydraulic system, the 3-way-valves must be
connected to the Pool-Spa control PCB. Whether 3 or 2 valves hydraulic configuration system is
present, connect the valves to terminals marked as V1, V2 and V3, taking into account normally
close (N.C.) / normally open (N.O.) and common (COM) terminals. See IMAGE 10 (page 189).
Pool / Spa board also includes a filtration pump control connector in order to manage Spa
filtration system in case there are two filtration systems: one for the pool (controlled by main
board) and another one for the spa. See IMAGE 10 (page 189).

EOM ENERGY EFFICIENT MODE

EOM ENERGY EFFICIENT MODE
EOM ENERGY EFFICIENT MODE
EOM ENERGY EFFICIENT MODE
While in EOM efficiency mode, the APHeat heat pump continuously checks energy available in
the environment as well as the thermal inertia of the water and will decide whether it is
efficient to heat the water pool or not.
Keep in mind that all energy efficiency modes have the advantage of savings in equipment
operating costs, but also involve some drawbacks.
Pictures 11 & 12 describe the operation of the APHeat Heat pump in EOM mode:
IMAGE 11 (page 190) describes the operation of a heat pump for 3 days, configured to maintain
water set point, ie without any energy efficiency method activated. As we can see, the unit
works even when the available energy in the environment is low (the unit has a weak
performance), as it has been configured to maintain the set point temperature under all
circumstances.
By contrast, IMAGE 12 (page 190) shows operation of the same unit during the same 3 days, but
with the EOM energy efficiency method activated. As we can see, there are certain time periods
when the unit is not allowed to run, because the unit knows that there is little energy available
in the environment. At the time when there is available energy, the unit will work again.
The great advantage of this mode is that we can obtain equipment operating cost savings up to
40%
The drawback is that in periods when low energy is available in the environment, since the unit
does not work, the pool water temperature will drop. But presumably, in these periods of low
energy, the user of this pool is not very prone to bathe as little energy in the air means cold air.
When the air temperature rises again and the machine detects that it is efficient to operate, it
