Switch on the Endomed 581
Directly after switching on, the unit carries out a self-test.
All LED's and display functions light up briefly, and an
audible signal is heard.
Select the required current type.

The relevant parameters for the selected current type
are displayed on the screen.
Select a parameter.
Set the required parameter value with the param-
eter setting selector.
Set the treatment time.
Apply the electrodes with the well moistened sponges.
Start the treatment by turning the amplitude control on
the equipment or on a connected remote control.

Caution: Take note of the patient's awareness. When
burning or a stinging pain is felt, this can in most cases
be undone by moistening the sponges extra. Should
this not be sufficient, the intensity must be lowered.
Note: A blinking amplitude display indicates a bad or
none electrical contact (a high electrode resistance,
defective patient cable or an open circuit). In this case
the patient current will be switched off for security rea-
sons.
Ending the treatment
Automatic:
After the treatment time has elapsed, an audible signal
is given and the current is reduced to zero.
Manual:
Set the amplitude and timer to zero.

Storing your own programs in the memory
Choose the setting. With the exception of the amplitude,
all settings can be programmed.
Press the "store" key
The setting you just made disappears from screen.
Search, using the parameter setting selectors , a
program number that can be overwritten.
Press the "confirmation" key.
The new setting has now been stored in the memory.
Retreiving your own programs from the memory
At any chosen time a program can be retreived from the
memory.
Press the "retreive" key.
Search, using the parameter setting selectors, the
desired program number.
Press the "confirmation" key.
The program is accepted.
Program 0: a special program
After the unit has been switched on, and the self-test has
been completed, Program 0 is selected automatically. A
preferred program has been entered in the factory. This
can be replaced by your own preferred settings. The
unit will then automatically start by selecting your pre-
ferred program.
Calling a pre set program
Press the "prog" program key.
Select, using the parameter selecting selectors,
one of the therapy clusters.
Press the "confirmation" key.
Select, using the parameter selecting selectors,
one of the programs of this selected cluster.
Press the "confirmation" key.
