2.1 Operating Instructions

Insert the RS 232 plug of the NANOCOLOR
RS 232 interface connector of the switched off heating
block. Fully insert the temperature sensor of the NANO-
COLOR
cover of the heating block.
Whilst holding the X-key pressed (for the NANOCOLOR
VARIO 3, the key on the side required), switch the heating
block on with the mains switch on the rear of the unit. Keep
the X-key pressed until a long signal tone is heard. In the
upper display, „tESt" is shown. Now, by pressing the X-
key, a change-over is possible between the test program
(„tESt") and calibration („CAL").

2.2 Program Selection

The program required is started by pressing the W-key.
Before running a test program or a calibration, the tempe-
rature of the heating block should be less than the lowest
programmed temperature in the heating block. Otherwise,
the selected program will not start until the temperature
has fallen below the lowest programmed temperature.

2.2.1 Test Program (tESt)

All temperatures programmed in the heating block are
measured by T-Set, from the lowest to the highest, regis-
tered and then saved in the heating block (this takes about
40 min). A signal tone is heard when the heating block
has reached a programmed setpoint temperature (shown
in the upper display). The actual temperature measured
by T-Set is shown in the lower display and saved in the
heating block.
While the test program is running, the PROG, WAIT and
RUN LED's flash and symbolise the on-going temperature
response. The temperatures measured by T-Set can be
logged by hand while the test program is running, or out-
put and documented with the T-Set software after the test
