For these reasons the same current intensity can
produce sensations that vary from person to per-
son, day to day, and left to right side. Even
during the same work session, due to adaptation
phenomena, it may be necessary to adjust the
intensity to obtain the same contraction.
The current intensity to be used in the various
phases is suggested with an indicative value,
which must be taken into consideration accor-
ding to individual sensations.
- Low: the muscle is not fatigued even in case
of lengthy treatments; the contraction is
bearable and pleasant. First level in the
intensity chart.
- Intermediate: the muscle contracts visibly
but causes no articular movement. Second
level in the intensity chart.
- High: the muscle contracts considerably.
The muscular contraction may cause the
extension or flexion of the limb if the latter is
not blocked. Third level in the intensity chart.
- Maximum: maximum muscle contraction.
Very taxing work. Perform only after several
applications.

TREATMENT DESCRIPTIONS
Following is a short description of the program-
mes provided by the electrostimulator.
SPORT
WARM-UP: Increases muscular temperature for
better training preparation. Increases the blood
flow to and metabolism of the muscle.
Recommended before training sessions or com-
petitions.
Intensity: low or intermediate.
MAXIMAL FORCE: Improves maximal force capa-
bility and increases muscular mass. Allows trai-
ning with maximum load and reduced trauma
risk
as
compared
Recommended for activities requiring great
physical strength. Also useful during the early
preparation period as it trains the muscles to
receive significant stress.
Intensity: maximum, at pain threshold limit.
During active Rest, adjust the intensity to obtain
comfortable contractions.
RESISTANCE FORCE: Improves the ability to dis-
play a high level of force for an extended period
of time and to resist toxin accumulation, thus
delaying muscular fatigue. The programme
involves a long series of lengthy contractions,
alternated with brief active rest. Recommended
for sports requiring intense muscular work for an
extended period of time.
Intensity: intermediate or maximum. Active Rest
should induce muscular vibrations.
EXPLOSIVE FORCE: The Explosive Force program-
me increases the ability to rapidly achieve maxi-
mum levels of force. The objective is to recruit
the maximum number of muscle fibres in the
shortest time possible. It is recommended to
begin with a Maximal Force programme to pre-
pare the muscle for the Explosive Force pro-
gramme. Recommended in all sports requiring
maximal force under natural load conditions,
