Chapt. 6 LOGIC-SAFE (Electronic device that protects the electrical pump) models
MULTIMAX 4 -5S LOGIC-SAFE
Multimax 4s and Multimax 5s pumps are fitted with an integrated electronic device, LOGIC SAFE, that controls the
electric parameters of the electropump and the water temperature, by registering the difference between the pre-set
values and those generated by dry running, motor overload and water over-temperature anomalies
Pannello di controllo (fig.A)
Green LED light on: "Power-on" Pump connected to the power supply
Yellow LED light on "Pump-on" Pump running
Yellow LED light on "Pump-on" Pump running and the device has registered the "dry
running" anomaly. If the anomaly lasts it generates the definitive alarm ( red blinking led).
Red LED light "Failure" motor overload
RED blinking led "Failure": dry running or water overtemperature
Green Led "Restart": reset after anomaly
Dry running
The pump will stop in case of dry-running.
The parameters has been tuned according with the pump characteristics.
Note: just a dry-running condition is preliminary identified the yellow "Pump on" LED begins to blink. If this condition
lasts a fault dry-running condition is generated.
This fault will be indicated by the blinking red LED "Failure".
To restore the device press the green "Restart" button.
Overload
The pump will stop in case of an overload (abnormal absorbed current).
When the absorbed current exceeding the nominal value of the pump, the device will stop the pump and protect it
from power surges.
This fault will be indicated by the steady red LED "Failure".
To restore the device press the green "Restart" button.
Overtemperature
The pump will stop when the water temperature exceeds a fixed critical value
This fault will be indicated by the blinking red LED "Failure".
In this case it is necessary to wait for it to cool before resuming use.
To restore the device press the green "Restart" button.
Resect functions
Removing the cause of the anomaly (chapt. 7)
Press the RESTART button to restart the equipment and the system as normal. If the power is cut off, the
machine will automatically be restored to a serviceable condition when it returns.
Ch. 7 Maintenance and troubleshooting
DANGER
Electric shock
risk
In ordinary conditions, FLOTEC MULTIMAX series electropumps do not require any maintenance. To prevent possible
problems, it is advisable to periodically check the pressure supplied and current absorption. A reduction of the pressure may
indicate that the electropump is worn. Sand and other corrosive materials present in the delivery fluid cause a rapid wear and
a reduction of performance. In this case, it is advisable to use a filter. An increase in current absorption indicates the presence
of abnormal mechanical friction in the pump and/or the motor.
If the electropump is not going to be used for a long period of time (i.e. one year), it is advisable to empty it completely (by
opening the drain cap, see Fig. 1 n. 10), rinse it with clean water and store it in a dry location, where it can be protected from frost.
PROBLEM
1) THE ELECTROPUMP
DOES NOT PUMP WATER,
THE MOTOR DOES NOT RUN
2) THE ELECTROPUMP
STOPS AFTER RUNNING FOR
A PERIOD OF TIME BECAUSE
ONE OF THE THERMAL
MOTOR CIRCUIT BREAKER
TRIPS
If the problem persists despite the recommended corrective actions, contact the Customer Assistance Service.

Make sure the machine is disconnected from electric power supply,
before performing maintenance operation.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1) No power.
2) Defective condenser.
3) Shaft blocked.
4) LOGIC-SAFE enabled.
1) The power supply does not comply
with the data on the nameplate.
2) A solid object is blocking the
impellers.
3) LOGIC-SAFE enabled.
1) Verify that voltage is present and that the plug
has been correctly inserted.
2) Contact the Customer Assistance Service.
3) Verify the cause and unblock the
electropump.
4) See Chapter 6.
1) Check the voltage on the power supply
cable leads.
2) Contact the Customer Assistance Service.
3) See Chapter 6.
