If your hedge trimmer happens to fail while you
are using it, follow the suggestions presented
below:
The cutting blades stop working
Cut slower. If the blade keeps stopping,
unplug the hedge trimmer and call TRAPP
nearest technical assistance shop.
While cutting, the blades came across some
kind of obstacle such as a piece of wire, a nail
or another object. Remove objects or deflect
the cut to prevent the blades from locking. This
damages the cutter assembly and consequently
leads to loss of warranty.
The equipment does not stop when the dual
power on/off switch is released
Usually, hedges should be cut in the shape of
a trapezium (as in the figure), that is, with the
base wider than the top. This shape will expose
the surface of the hedge to sun light, which will
provide a more even growth. For reference, apply
an inclination of approximately 10 cm to a one-
meter hedge (as in the picture).
Cutting sequence
First cut both sides, bottom up, so that small
pieces do not fall in the cutting area. After that,
cut the upper part (picture opposite).
For very long branches and live fences, cutting
must be carried out in steps so as not to overload
the engine; also, the decomposition (composting)
of the cut material takes place more quickly.
