Lubrication
Oil the axle bearings and the side rod bearings now and then with a drop of Märklin
oil (item no. 7149).
Replacing the light bulbs
Headlights (front): Pull the headlight housing from the model. Pull the light bulb out of
the base. Plug a new light bulb into the base. Reassemble the model.
Headlights (rear): Carefully pry the glass from the lantern. Using tweezers carefully
pull the light bulb from the socket. Insert a new light bulb. Reassemble the model.
Interior lighting and running gear lights: Using tweezers pull the light bulb from the
socket Insert a new light bulb.
Replacing Traction Tires
– Loosen the screw on the side rod and remove the side rod from the wheel pivot.
– Remove the old traction tire by using a small flat-blade screwdriver: Pry the old
traction tire out of the groove on the driving wheel.
– Carefully push the new traction tire over the wheel and insert it into the groove on
the wheel.
– Check to make sure that the traction tire is properly seated.
– Reassemble the model.
