6) If the thermometer is not used for a
longer period, the battery should be
removed to prevent damage to the
thermometer in case of battery leak-
age.

5 Carrying out Measurements

B
For measurements on current-
carrying components, the applied
voltage must not exceed 24 V /~,
otherwise the thermometer may be
damaged. In case of voltages
equal to or greater than 42 V, there
is a hazard of an electric shock. If
two temperature sensors are used
simultaneously, the voltage differ-
ence on the components to be
measured must not exceed 1 V.
Only use the supplied temperature
sensors for measurements up to
max. 260 °C (500 °F). Higher tem-
peratures will damage the insula-
tion.
Do not bend the sensor leads, es-
pecially avoid bends near the con-
nectors. Otherwise the sensors will
be damaged.

5.1 Basic adjustments

5.1.1 Selecting the type of tempera-
ture sensor
The two supplied temperature sensors
are K-type. The thermometer is factory-
set to this type. On the display (2), the
letter K precedes both the main display
(a) and the second display (b).
1) To change the sensor type, sensor T1
must be selected for the main display
and sensor T2 for the second display
(standard adjustment after switching
on). The sensor number (T1, T2) is
indicated on the right side of each
temperature display.
If the sensor number must be
changed, press the buttons "T1 T2/
T1-T2" so many times until the cor-
rect sensor has been selected [button
(5) for the main display and button (8)
for the second display].
2) Press the button "TYPE" (11) for sen-
, it is switched
5.1.2 Switching between Celsius and
With the button "°C/°F" (4), switch the
temperature indication from Celsius to
Fahrenheit and vice versa.

5.1.3 Setting the internal clock

After switching on, the time display (c)
shows the time which has passed since
the thermometer was switched on. This
can be used to indicate the measuring
time. The current time can also be dis-
played there, if required. It must be
entered first:
1) Press the button "SET" (12). The
