IFFT/ IFHT- CASED CENTRIFUGAL JETFANS
IFFT – VENTILATION
IFHT – VENTILATION AND SMOKE EXTRACT
This range of Cased Centrifugal Jet Fans has been
manufactured to the rigorous standards of production
and quality control in accordance with the Internatio-
nal Quality Standards ISO 9001. All components have
been checked and tested at the end of the manufactu-
ring process.
All appliances are supplied in perfect condition and
operation. We recommend that you check the following
when receiving this product:
1. That it is the correct size.
2. That it is the correct model type.
3. The details on the rating label are those required:
voltage, frequency...
All Jet Fans should be installed in accordance with all
applicable National and Local standards for smoke ex-
tract ventilation systems.
Installation
- When installing the Jet Fan, for optimum operation
ensure there are no obstructions to restrict / obstruct
inlet / outlet airflow.
- Before connecting the unit to the electrical supply,
ensure that the impeller turns freely and there are no
obstructions to the airflow.
- Before finalizing the installation ensure that there is
no open access to any moving parts and check that
the system complies with all standards concerning
the safety of rotating electrical machines.
Electrical Connection
- Before starting any installation or wiring of the Jet
Fan range, ensure that the mains electrical supply is
disconnected.
- Before making any electrical connections ensure
that the Voltage and Frequency of the mains elec-
trical supply matches that of the fan data plate label
(maximum permissible deviation of voltage and fre-
quency +/- 5%).
- IFHT Jet Fans are fitted with motors capable of wor-
king at emergency High Temperatures for periods of
time:
F300: 300ºC / 120 mins
F400: 400ºC / 120 mins
Motor connection to electrical supply should be with
suitable rated cable. Example: OMERIN type MA-
VAS or equivalent in accordance with Standard UNE
20431 (CEI-331).
- Before installation ensure that the electrical cable
selected is rated (in accordance with all appreciable
standards) to withstand the maximum absorbed cu-
rrent of the fan.
- Where motors are equipped with accessories: ther-
mal protection, space heaters, speed control device,
these must be disabled during operation in smoke
extraction mode.
- All Jet Fans models should be wired to the electrical
supply in accordance with diagram provided in con-
nection box.
- Check that the fan earth connection is correctly wi-
red to a suitable grounding point.
Impeller
- All impellers are manufactured from galvanised steel.
- Any alteration to the product by any means will inva-
lidate the S&P guarantee.
Operating Conditions
- The range of Jet Fans has been designed to withs-
tand one off emergency exposure to the stated High
Temperature / time duration, on the Jetfan:
F300 300ºC / 120 mins
F400 400ªC / 120 mins.
The range has been tested and independently cer-
tified by the Applus laboratory under the EN 12101-
3/2002 Standards.
- The product range is designed to operate in the case
of a fire emergency. It is therefore recommended that
the fan is checked at least every six (6) months for
electrical and mechanical operation.
- Each time the fan is checked, ensure that the impe-
ller rotates in the correct direction as indicated by
the arrow on the fan casing.
Maintenance
- Before conducting any maintenance or cleaning of
the fan ensure that the unit is disconnected from the
mains electrical supply.
- Fans for emergency High Temperature smoke ope-
ration may provide a critical life saving function
and thus should be inspected and maintained un-
der a verifiable maintenance system in accordan-
ce with these instructions. We recommend Jet Fan
is inspected and cleaned regularly to ensure safe
operation.
- Ensure that there is no build-up of dirt or debris on
the motor or impeller which could impede cooling or
cause imbalance to impeller.
