c – Remove reservoir cap (01).
d – Operate moveable handle (29) several times, in order to advance the ram (25).
e – Press the pressure release lever (41) to retract the ram (25), discharge oil pressure from the circuit
and return all oil to the reservoir.
f – Repeat points (d - e) fi ve times, to ensure all air bubbles in the hydraulic circuit are purged into
the reservoir.
g – If the oil level is low, top up as directed in paragraph 4.2.
h – Remove all air from reservoir and fi t cap (14).
i – Assemble main handle (04) to tool body.
In the tool continues to malfunction, return the tool for service/repair as detailed in § 6.
4.2) Oil top up
Every six months check the oil level in the reservoir. If necessary, top up the oil level to the top lip
of the reservoir and remove all air from the reservoir points a, b, c, e, g, h and i.
Always use clean recommended oil, see § 1.
Do not use old or recycled oil.
Do not use hydraulic brake fl uid.
Ensure that disposal of used oil is in accordance with current legislation.
4.3) Replacement of the fl exible hose
– Hold the body (13) in a vice, keeping the fl exible hose (17) above the level of the vice.
– Loosen the fl exible hose using a 12 mm spanner resisting the rotation of the coupler (16) with a
15mm spanner.
– Carefully clean the thread of the coupler (16) to remove any residual sealing materials.
– Restore the gasket (tefl on tape) on the (male) thread of the new hose.
– Connect the new hose, tightening thoroughly the relevant nut torque ratio 30 Nm (22 lbf ft).
– Eliminate the air in the hose, acting as follows:
Unlock the moveable handle (29). Depress the ball of the female quick coupler, fi tted to the end
of the hose and pump slowly several times, until the oil fl ows.
Check the oil level and top up as point 4.1.
4.4) Replacement of the automatic coupler
To replace the automatic coupler proceed as follows:
– Remove the old coupler (19) to the fl exible hose (17).
– Carefully clean the thread to remove the old sealant.
– Apply tefl on tape to the thread.
– Fit the new automatic coupler and tighten to 30 Nm (22 lbf ft).
