2 Safety Information

2.1 Intended use

Use the product only for weighing in accordance with this User manual.

2.2 Definition of signal words and warning symbols

Safety notes are indicated by signal words and warning symbols and contain warnings and infor-
mation about safety issues. Ignoring safety notes can lead to personal injury, damage to the
instrument, malfunctions and erroneous results.

2.3 Product specific safety notes

Your weigh module meets the state of the art technology and complies with all recognized safety
rules, however, certain hazards could arise. Do not open the weigh module: It does not contain any
parts which can be maintained, repaired or replaced by the user. If you ever have problems with your
weigh module, contact your authorized METTLER TOLEDO dealer or service representative.
Always operate and use your weigh module only in accordance with the instructions contained in this
manual. The instructions for setting up your weigh module must be strictly observed.
If the weigh module is not used according to these Operating Instructions, protection of the
weigh module may be impaired and METTLER TOLEDO assumes no liability.
Staff safety
Use only METTLER TOLEDO accessories and peripheral devices, these items are designed to work
optimally with your weigh module.
Explosion hazard
It is not permitted to use the weigh module in explosive atmospheres of gases, steam, fog, dust and
flammable dust (hazardous environments).
