2 Safety Information
If your measured values are regularly outside these
limits, consult your doctor.
• Dehydration or a lack of water (e.g. from sweating,
passing water frequently), low blood pressure, shock or
hyperglycaemic hyperosmolar non-ketotic coma
(HHNKC) can lead to incorrect readings. If you think you
are suffering from dehydration or a lack of water, consult
your doctor immediately.
• Increased levels of paracetamol, uric acid, gentisic
acid, L-DOPA, dopamine, ascorbic acid and
methyldopa can affect the readings.
• If patients are undergoing an oxygen therapy, the
readings could be incorrect.
• If the proportion of red blood cells (haemotocrit level)
is very high (over 55 %) or very low (under 30 %), this
could distort the test results.
• Lipaemic effects: cholesterol value of up to 500 mg/dL
and blood glycerides of up to 3,000 mg/dL do not
affect the readings. However, readings at higher values
can affect the blood glucose value and are therefore
not recommended.
• If you have followed the instructions in this manual and
symptoms persist which are not associated with your
blood glucose level or your blood pressure, consult your
doctor.
• For additional advice on your health, read the in-
struction manual for the test strips carefully.
