Before using the appliance, please read the
following instructions carefully and keep this
manual for future reference. Th e appliance
must only be used by persons familiar with
these instructions.

Application
 Th e thermal milk jug serves to keep cold
milk intended for use in your SEVERIN
fully automatic coff ee maker. With a full
jug, the milk is kept fresh for up to six
hours.
 Note: Milk is a highly sensitive liquid.
Ensure that any remaining or insuffi ciently
cold milk is disposed of, and clean the jug
each time aft er use.
 Caution: Do not put any other kind of
liquid or ice into the jug.
 No responsibility is accepted if damage
results from improper use, or if these
instructions are not complied with.
 Th is thermal jug is intended for domestic
or similar applications, such as
- in shops, offi ces and other similar
working environments,
- in agricultural areas,
- by customers in hotels, motels etc. and
similar establishments,
- in bed-and-breakfast
environments.
Important safety instructions
 Before the jug is used, the main body as
well as any attachments fi tted should be
checked thoroughly for any defects. If, for

surface, damage may have occurred.
 During operation, the jug must be placed
on a level, non-slip surface, impervious to
splashes and stains.
 Do not position the jug on or near hot
surfaces (e.g. hotplates) or other heat
sources.
 Th is thermal jug may be used by children
(at least 8 years of age) provided they have
been given supervision or instruction
concerning the use of the appliance and
fully understand all dangers and safety
precautions involved. Children must not
be permitted to carry out any cleaning or
maintenance work on the appliance unless
they are supervised and at least 8 years of
age. Th e jug must be kept well away from
children under 8 at all times.
 Th e jug may only be used by persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lacking experience and
knowledge, if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning the
use of the appliance and fully understand
all dangers
involved.
 Children must not be permitted to play
with the jug.
 Caution: Keep any packaging materials
well away from children – such materials
are a potential source of danger, e.g. of
suff ocation.
 Use only original accessory parts; the
use of any attachments other than those
provided by the manufacturer may cause
serious hazards to the user.
Before using for the fi rst time
 Remove any packing materials completely.
 Clean the jug as described in the section
Cleaning and care.

 Fill the jug with (chilled) milk, to a
maximum of 0.5 litres.
 Pass the uptake tube through the lid from
below, with the angle-cut end facing
