1. Select a site that is level and firm enough to support a full tank. It may be necessary to cut or
fill earth to produce this as illustrated.
Clear away all vegetation, roots and stones. Ensure the ground is compacted.
Look for a site that is clear of trees to avoid the problem of roots, falling branches and leaves
canopy drip. Where possible site the tanks on high ground to allow distribution by gravity. If
several tanks are to be grouped together, carefully consider the layout to ensure that the
spacing and relative heights will achieve what is required.
