Make sure the area is outdoors or adequately ventilated before breaking into the
system or doing hot work. During the duration of the work, a certain degree of
ventilation must remain. The ventilation should safely distribute released refrigerant
and preferably release it into the atmosphere from the outside.
Checks the refrigeration systems
When electrical components are changed, they must be suitable for the purpose
and correct specification. The manufacturer's maintenance and service guidelines
must be followed at all times. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer's technical
department.
In the case of systems with flammable refrigerants, the following checks shall be
carried out:
The filling quantity depends on the size of the room in which the refrigerant-
containing parts are installed.
The ventilation units and outlets work properly and are not disabled.
If an indirect refrigeration circuit is used, the secondary circuit must be
checked for the presence of refrigerant.
The marking of the device is still visible and legible. Illegible markings and signs
shall be corrected;
Refrigeration lines or components are installed at a point where they are
unlikely to be exposed to substances that can attack refrigerant-containing
components, unless the components are made of materials that are
inherently corrosion-resistant or suitably protected against corrosion.
Checks electrical equipment
Repairs and maintenance of electrical components shall include initial safety checks
and component inspection procedures. If there is a fault that could jeopardise
safety, the power supply must not be connected to the circuit until a satisfactory
solution has been found. If the error cannot be corrected immediately, but
operations must continue, an appropriate temporary solution shall be used. This must
be communicated to the owner of the device so that all parties are informed.
