8 Stump socks
Note!
A thin nylon or cotton stump sock with a distal opening for the pin should also be
worn over the silicone liner to protect the silicone liner from any damage caused by
friction (see Fig. 9).
The stump socks are available in different lengths with following item numbers:
e. g.: Nylon Stump Sock for BK-amputees Item No. 25A31/.. + Size
Cotton BK-Stumpsock Item No. 25A23/.. + Size
For further sizes, please see our catalogue.
Note!
Place the end of the silicone liner onto the clean and dry stump end. Depending
on type, attach the pin to the connection disc and put the stump with the silicone
liner into the prosthesis.
Make sure that the pin of the silicone liner with distal connection is positioned
centrally at the stump end.
Furthermore, make sure that the silicone liner is connected and locked correctly
with lock system and prosthesis (see Fig. 10).
For silicone liner care without pin-lock, please use the Knee Sleeve item-no. 30L10/... resp.
30L50/... to seal the vacuum socket technology.
9 Cleaning
Attention!
All silicone liners are equipped with antibacterial additives. This reduces the deve-
lopment of bacteria on the inner surface of the silicone liner; which however, does
not make daily cleaning unnecessary.
To prevent skin irritations, the residual limb and silicone liner should be washed
daily resp. each time the silicone liner has been worn. We recommend to use the
gentle, liquid cleaning agent 10H2 Skin Care-Washing Lotion by Streifeneder. It is
pH-neutral and 100 % free from perfumes and colorants.
• with 10H2 Skin Care-Washing Lotion
Hand-wash the silicone liner inside out with 30 °C (86 °F) warm water using 10H2 Skin-Care
Wash Lotion. Afterwards, hand-dry with a towel.(see Fig. 11).
