14 Storing
14.1 Storing the ADVANCE X-Flex
AP battery bag with connecting
cord
► Switch off the cordless product.
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of the
socket or the AP adapter.
► Remove the battery.
► Roll up the connecting cable in a loop.
► Make sure that the following points are met
when storing the ADVANCE X-Flex AP battery
bag with connecting cord:
– The ADVANCE X-Flex AP battery bag with
connecting cord is out of the reach of chil‐
dren.
– The ADVANCE X-Flex AP battery bag with
connecting cord is clean and dry.
– The ADVANCE X-Flex AP battery bag with
connecting cord is not hanging on the con‐
necting cable.
14.2 Storing the battery
STIHL recommends keeping the battery in a
charging state between 40% and 60 % (2 lit
green LEDs).
► The battery should be stored in such a way
that the following conditions are fulfilled:
– The battery is out of the reach of children.
– The battery is clean and dry.
– The battery is in an enclosed space.
– The battery is stored separately from the
product.
– If the battery is stored in the charger, dis‐
connect the mains plug and store the bat‐
tery at a state of charge between 40% and
60% (2 lit green LEDs).
– Do not store the battery outside of the
specified temperature limits,
NOTICE
■ If the battery is not stored as described in this
user manual, the battery may become deeply
discharged and irreparably damaged.
► Charge a discharged battery before storing
it. STIHL recommends storing the battery in
a state of charge between 40% and 60% (2
lit green LEDs).
► Store the battery separately from the prod‐
uct.

15 Cleaning

► Switch off the cordless product.
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of the
socket or the AP adapter.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the ADVANCE X-Flex AP battery bag
with connecting cord with a damp cloth.
► Remove foreign objects from the battery com‐
partment and clean the battery compartment
with a damp cloth.
► Clean the electrical contacts in the battery
compartment with a paintbrush or soft brush.

► Clean the battery with a damp cloth.

► Pull connecting cable plug out of the socket or
the AP adapter.

► Clean the contacts (1) with a dry cloth.
► If the contacts are discolored (arrow): Use a
fine sandpaper (grade P600) to remove the
discoloration and clean the contacts until they
are bright.
