How should I clean my covering?
Your terrace covering is outside for years, day after day. If you want to enjoy your
Renson covering optimally at all times, we recommend regular maintenance.
The texture is made of powder coated aluminium. An annual cleaning with the Renson
Maintenance Set products ensures years of preserving the intense colour and provides
additional protection against acid rain, sea air and UV rays. Maintenance is designated
at least 2 x per year in coastal areas and wooded environments.
See page 133 for detailed maintenance instructions.
I have stains on the cedar wood of my Loggiawood
panels. Is this normal?
The Loggiawood and Loggiawood Privacy sliding panels are equipped with
Western Red Cedar blades. This type of wood will naturally age on exposure to
the elements and does not require any specific maintenance.
If you want to prevent even ageing, treat the wooden blades every 2 years with 1
to 2 layers of non-film forming cedar oil.
Stains (leaching) can occur due to moisture absorption of the cedar wood and
these are especially visible during the first year on the shadow side of Loggiawood
privacy panels which are often closed. Due to the closed position, there is no
natural air flow around the blades. Leave the blades open regularly and even rotate
them 180° (the shadow side comes on the outside), this ensures that the stains will
reduce after a while or even disappear completely. Mould can also occur and has
the same cause as the stains.
You can also remove most of the water stains and mould, but this is an intensive
job (Renson has a special product for this).
