OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
TYPE MERTIK MAXITROL
The MAXITROL adjusting bloc has the following control mechanisms: (fig. 8)
Lighter button with the following positions (1)
- closed position
- lighting or bypass flame position
- burner position
- Adjusting button (2)
LIGHTING
To light the bypass flame, turn the lighter button (1) on position (*) and press it down completely. After some five seconds, turn the
button on the bypass flame position and check whether the bypass flame is lit. If the bypass flame is lit, hold the button pressed for 10
more seconds. If it is not lit, repeat the steps described above.
When the button is released, the bypass flame shall remain lit. If not so, repeat the steps described above and keep the button pressed for
some more time.
Lighting the burners:
Turn the lighter button (1) on the burner position
If the set temperature exceeds the room temperature, the main burner will light.
Command:
After correctly having installed the batteries (not supplied), the remote control can be used to switch on or off the gas supply to the
burner or to adjust the flame height.

To install the batteries in the receiver, first loosen screw (A) and remove the protective hood (B).
Operation Instructions for the Remote Control
Setting the Display (°C, 24-hours indication!"°F, 12-hours indication)
After having installed the battery (type: 9V bloc), simultaneously press the AUTO and TIMER keys.
The indication on the display starts flashing. By pressing the AUTO key, the system switches from °C to °F and vice versa. After some
time, the display automatically switches to manual control. By pressing the TIMER key, it is possible to switch immediately.
Setting the Time
By simultaneously pressing AUTO and TIMER, the indication on the display starts flashing. To set the time, press key (!) for the hours
and key (") for the minutes. Wait or press the TIMER key to switch to manual control
