Precautions for Taking Photos
Precautions for Holding the Camera
Correct way to
Do not cover the
hold
flash sensor or AE
light sensor with
your finger while
taking a photo.
• Make sure that the shoulder strap and/or your fingers do
not cover the flash sensor, AE light sensor, flash lampface,
lens, or film ejection slot. See pages 6-7 to see where these
camera features are located on the camera body.
• Hold the camera so that the flash lampface is at the top
when taking a horizontal photo.
• Do not take photos using the flash feature in locations
where flash photography is forbidden.
• Do not grasp the lens barrel when holding the camera.
The finished photos may be adversely affected.
• When looking through the viewfinder, ensure the
in the viewfinder is visible in the center of your subject.
• Be careful not to touch or otherwise obstruct the lens
when you press the shutter button.
• When taking photos in a dark setting , hold the camera
firmly or use a tripod or other surface to prevent blurring,
as the shutter speed may be slow.
Distances for Shooting
• In Normal mode, take a photo at a distance of at least 23.6
in. (0.6 m) from the subject. The effective flash range is up
to approximately 8.9 ft (2.7 m).

Description
The self-timer is set and will notify
you when it will take a photo. Photo is
taken immediately after the Self-timer
light has blinked for 3 seconds.
An error has occurred.
• Film is jammed.
• Lens dial position is incorrect.
• Other errors

authorized dealer for assistance.
Battery temperature is abnormal.
• The film counter display on the
Mode indicator flashes "L": Low
temperature abnormality
• The film counter display on the
Mode indicator flashes "H": High
temperature abnormality
Causes and solutions
The battery is low.
Charge the battery.
Do not pull out the film. Remove the
battery, charge it and then put it back
into the camera. It may be possible
to eject the film after these steps
are taken.
