PRECAUTIONS
Note on batteries
Dry cell batteries and the rechargeable battery can
short-circuit or explode if mishandled. Observe the
following and handle the batteries with care.
Rechargeable battery
e Do not carry the battery in a pocket or handbag
together with meta! objects such as pendants
or key holders.
¢ Do not short-circuit the terminals.
e Use only the supplied AC adaptor to recharge
the battery.
© Do not disassemble the battery, heat it or put it
in water.
¢ Donot expose it to excessive vibration or shock.
Dry cell batteries
e Insert the batteries with the @ and © marks
correctly aligned.
¢ Do not use old batteries with new ones or mix
different types of batteries together.
¢ Do not disassemble the battery, heat it or put it
in water.
« Do not attempt to charge the battery.
¢ If the unit is not to be used for a long period of
time, remove the batteries. If battery leakage
occurs, remove the fluid from the battery case
by wiping well with a dry soft cloth.
Dew condensation
If the unit is left in a room and made warm and
damp by a heater, tiny water droplets may form
inside the unit. This is known as condensation.
Condensation may occur in the following cases:
¢ Soon after the heater is turned on in a cold room.
e Soon after the unit is moved into a warm place
from a cold place.
If condensation occurs, "dew" appears on the
display window and the cassette holder opens
when any button is pressed. In such a case, re-
move the cassette and leave the unit for a few
hours, until it operates normally.
