General Warnings

HYDRAULIC CONNECTION
A new safety device (or any other new pressure relief valve), with a pressure
y
of either 0.7 or 0.9 MPa (7 or 9 bar), depending on the nominal pressure,
and measuring 3/4'' in diameter, must be fitted on the water heater inlet, in
accordance with the local standards in force (see the diagram on page B).
No hydraulic accessories must be installed between the safety device and
y
the cold water inlet of the appliance. A pressure reducer (not supplied) is
required if the supply pressure is greater than 0.5 MPa (5 bar) and will be
installed on the main supply pipe.
Connect the safety device to a discharge pipe, kept in the open air, in
y
a frost-free environment, continuously sloping downwards to drain off the
heat-expanded water or to allow for drainage of the water heater.
The pressure relief valve drainage device must be activated on a regular
y
basis in order to remove limescale deposits and to check that it is not
blocked.
To drain the appliance, turn off the power and cold water supply, open the
y
hot water taps then operate the drainage valve of the safety device.
The pipes used must be able to withstand 1 MPa (10 bar) and 100 °C.
y
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Be sure to turn off the power before removing the cover, to prevent any risk
y
of injury or electric shock.
Upstream of the appliance, the electrical installation must have an all-pole
y
cut-out device (circuit breaker, fuse) compliant with the local installation
rules in force (30 mA residual current device).
If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced with a cable or a special pack
y
available from the manufacturer or the After-Sales service.
Earthing is mandatory. A special terminal marked
y
purpose.
Products including a battery: There is a risk of explosion if the battery is
y
replaced with an incorrect battery. Dispose of used batteries in accordance
with local regulations.
