OPERATING THE TOOL
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem: Tool operates, but fasteners are not driven
Solution:
ƒ Check for proper fasteners
ƒ Clear the jam
ƒ Clean and lubricate
ƒ Replace spring in magazine
Problem: Slow to cycle or weak drive
Solution:
ƒ Check/adjust air pressure - do not exceed 120psi Apply
air tool lubricant
ƒ Adjust depth of drive
ƒ Check/repair air leaks
Problem: Failure to cycle
Solution:
ƒ Check for jams
ƒ Check air supply equipment
ƒ Apply air tool lubricant
ƒ Replace cylinder cap
ƒ Replace trigger
Problem: Fasteners jam in tool
Solution:
ƒ Check for correct fastener
ƒ Check proper air pressure
ƒ Check magazine and feeder operation
ƒ Replace piston/driver assembly
Problem: Intermittent feed
Solution:
ƒ Use recommended fasteners
ƒ Clean and lubricate
ƒ Replace magazine spring
ƒ Replace piston o-ring
Problem: Drives too deep
Solution:
ƒ Adjust depth of drive setting, if applicable
ƒ Reduce air pressure: 120psi
Problem: Does not drive properly at faster tooling
speeds
Solution:
ƒ Check for proper air supply
ƒ Use larger inside diameter air hose
ƒ Check for / or repair air leaks
ƒ Replace seals and rings
Problem: Trigger valve leaks air
Solution: Replace o-ring
Problem: Frame and nose leaks air
Solution: Tighten screws, replace o-ring or gasket,
replace bumper, replace seal or gasket
Problem: Frame and cap leaks air
Solution: Replace seal or gasket
