8. STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
Transport
-Let the engine cool down before transporting the machine or storing it indoors to avoid
burns and fire.
-Shut down the engine even in short distances when changing location during work.
-Carry the machine exclusively by the handle. Do not touch the casing (risk of burns).
-When transporting the auger in a vehicle, it must be stored safely, properly secure your
machine to prevent rollovers, fuel spills, and damage.
-The fuel tank must be completely emptied before transport.
Storage
Follow the cleaning and maintenance instructions before storing the device.
If you store the auger for more than 30 days, you must prepare it in advance. Unless the
storage instructions are followed, the fuel remaining in the carburetor will evaporate, leaving
rubber-like deposits. This could lead to starting difficulties and costly repairs.
1. Remove the cap from the fuel tank slowly to relieve pressure in the tank. Carefully empty
the fuel tank.
2. Start the engine and let it run until the engine stops to remove fuel from the carburetor.
3. Allow the engine to cool down (approximately 5 minutes).
4. Remove the spark plug.
5. Pour 1 teaspoon of clean 2-cycle oil into the combustion chamber. Slowly pull the starter
rope several times to coat the internal components. Replace the spark plug.
6. Store the auger in a dry place, away from possible sources of ignition, such as ovens, gas
hot water boilers, gas dryers, etc.
Recommissioning the auger
1. Remove the spark plug.
2. Pull the starter rope vigorously to remove excess oil from the combustion chamber.
3. Clean the spark plug and check that the electrode gap is correct.
4. Prepare the unit for operation.
5. Fill the fuel tank with the proper fuel / oil mixture.
Disposal and recycling
The equipment is supplied in packaging to avoid damage during transport.
Owner´s manual
The felt filter (J) of the fuel filter may get
clogged. It is recommended to replace
the fuel filter once every three months
to ensure unobstructed fuel flow to the
carburetor.
To remove the fuel filter for replacement,
pull it out through the tank filler neck with
a piece of wire bent at one end to form a
hook.
