9 Storing the machine
9.1 Storing the machine
If the machine is not used for long periods, protect exposed parts (not
protected by paint, surface treatment or plastic) with protective rust
prevention oils. For the model with internal combustion engine,
disconnect the battery and empty the tank. For the electric model,
charge the batteries.
Allow the motor to cool down before putting the machine away in a
closed place.
Never store the machine with fuel in the tank inside a
building where the fumes could come into contact
with a naked flame or spark.
If the machine is not to be used for particularly long periods, you
should also clean it thoroughly. After performing these operations, seal
the machine inside an opaque black multilayer nylon bag together with
a suitable drying agent (silica gel).
10 Dismantling the machine
10.1
Dismantling the machine
The machine must be dismantled by a demolisher with specific
authorisation. Certain operations must always be performed after
decommissioning and before demolition.
Remove the lubricants (oils and greases) from the speed
variators. To remove these substances, read the
instructions in the maintenance section. Lubricants
must be disposed of in conformity with current
legislation. Under no circumstances may they be
disposed of in the environment.
Remove the accumulators (buffer batteries, dry batteries
etc) from the machine. The accumulators removed must
be disposed of according to current legislation.
Remove
and
identification plates and any other documentation
relevant to the machine (manuals, diagrams etc).
10.2
General regulations on the disposal of
industrial waste.
As different regulations are applicable in the various countries, the
legal requisites in the country concerned should be followed.
10.3
Company refuse management
The following instructions do not apply if the holder of
the refuse is a private individual.
