Always check tool settings
before use. Settings may be
different than when the tool was last used. The
connectivity module enables transfer of data
and settings based on Bluetooth® wireless tech-
nology. With module installed, select tool set-
tings may be changed remotely by a paired Blue-
tooth® device and user installed app.
This tool is equipped with a
radio interface. Local oper-
ating restrictions, e.g. in military sites or hos-
pitals, are to be observed. Transmitters have
demonstrated an ability to unintentionally inter-
fere with other devices.

You will need to install the device-specific app

— Download the app from the correspond-
ing app store (Apple App Store, Google Play
Store).
Note: You will need to have a user account

— The display of your mobile device shows you
all of the subsequent steps required to con-
nect the power tool to the mobile device.
In conjunction with the Bluetooth® Low Energy
module GCY 42, the following connectivity func-
tions are available with the Bosch Toolbox app
for the power tool:
— Registration
— Personalisation of Favorite working mode
(performance and behaviour)
— Tool settings (e.g. dust extraction runtime,
worklight parameters)
— Status check, output of warning messages
— General information
— Management
Read the corresponding operating instructions
for information about the Bluetooth® Low En-
ergy Module GCY 42.
The smartphone symbol 26 lights up if the pow-
er tool sends information (e.g. a temperature
warning) to a mobile device via Bluetooth® wire-
less technology.
Deactivating the connectivity function
• With the Bluetooth® Low Energy Module, the
power tool is equipped with a radio interface.
Local operating restrictions, e.g. in aircraft or
hospitals, must be observed.
Note: The cover 13 can only be securely closed
if the Bluetooth® Low Energy Module and the
button cell are situated in the power tool.
— To deactivate the Bluetooth® Low Energy
Module, rotate the button cell or place means
of insulation between the button cell and
Bluetooth® Low Energy Module.
— Close the cover 13 to prevent dirt from get-
ting in.
