Y-MODE OPERATION:

Used to setup an active 2-way system where CH1 drives the SUB-woofer and CH2 drives the SATELLITE
speaker. Attention: Y-MODE is mono so you need 2 amplifiers (1 per side) to build a stereo system. Speaker
impedance can go down to 2Ω
Using binding post outputs:
®
Using SpeakON
outputs:
 Connect the mono audio signal to the input of CH1 (8/9)
 Select "Y-MODE" mode on the display
 Set the DSP-parameters: at least the crossover parameters! (see next chapter)
 Connect the speakers to the outputs as shown on the drawings.
 Set input gain knobs (5) to zero
 Make sure there's a music signal at the left input
 Turn the amplifier on (1)
 Adjust the gain knobs (5) to the desired levels: CH1 controls the SUB, CH2 controls the satellite speaker.
HOW TO SET THE DSP
In this chapter we give you the basic information needed to setup the parameters of the DSP-processor. To
keep things simple, the DSP in this amplifier only uses the most important settings. However if you are not
very familiar with some of the DSP-settings, we strongly advise you to look on the internet for more
information. In these cases "Google is your friend! "
You can use the 3-buttons (6) to navigate DSP-menus: the MODE/MENU-button is used to select the
working mode and all its related settings. The PREV/NEXT-buttons are used to change parameters.
HPF - high pass filter:
Mainly used to eliminate unwanted, energy absorbing low frequencies that only waste amplifier power. In
some cases the HPF will help protecting the (mainly smaller size) speakers. Possible cutoff frequencies:
40 - 50 – 63 – 80 - 100 - 125Hz.
LPF - low pass filter:
Mainly used to eliminate unwanted high frequencies and thus prevent eventual oscillations that could
possibly damage your speakers. Possible cutoff frequencies: 6,3k – 8k – 12k – 16k – 20kHz.
PEQ, 8band – 8band parametric equalizer:
A parametric equalizer is a very effective band-pass filter with adjustable gain, center frequency and
bandwidth (Q-factor). It's often used to correct speakers, prevent feedback, eliminate unwanted
resonances or simply to adapt the sound to the room (room equalization).
Possible center frequencies: 100 – 200 – 400 – 800 – 1,6k – 3,15k – 6,3k – 12,5kHz
Bandwidth (Q-factor) range: from 0,5 (narrow band) to 5,000 (wide band) in 0,5 steps.
Gain range: ±6dB in 1dB steps.
