Press the POWER
button.
For 4 seconds after turning on the unit, onlythe function buttons and
the VOLUME
control can be operated.
After use
Press the POWER button to turn off the power.
The display
indication is faded and only the clock is displayed.
Headphone
use
Connect
headphones
with a e6.3 mm/1/4 in. plug to the PHONES
jack.
When the headphones
are connected,
sound cannot be heard from
the speakers.
In case of power Interruption
The clock display flashes.
• If for lessthan about 24 hours, the clockdoes notwork duringthe
power interruption.
The current time has to be set again (see page 14).
• If for more than about 24 hours, the current time, preset stations
and timer have to be set again.
ON THE REMOTE CONTROL
Remote control setting
Detach the battery cover on the rear of the remote control and insert
two R6 (size AA) batteries. _ See illustration I'_!.
Battery
replacement
The maximum
operation distance of the remote control should be
approximately 5 meters (16 feet). When this distance decreases,
replace the batteries with new ones.
• Do not mix different types of batteries,
or old batteries with new
ones.
• When you are not going to use the remote control for a long period
of time, remove the batteries
to prevent
possible electrolyte
leakage.
Hints for correct
operation
The remote control does not operate or incorrect operation may
occur when:
• there is an obstruction
between
the remote control and the unit.
• the remote sensor is exposed to a strong light like the hot sun.
• other remote controls
like those of television
is used.

functions.
One of these
functions
is indicated
on the button top, and the other on the plate
above the button.
To use the function
indicated
on the button
top, just press the
button.
To use the function

on the plate above the button,
press the button while pressing
the SHIFT button.

button substitutes
for the function
buttons (TAPE,
TUNER,
VIDEO/AUX,
CD) on the main unit.
Each time the FUNCTION
button
is pressed,
the functions
are
selected cyclically.
